Spread lime and work into soil before planting
Ace Hardware fertilizer for gardens - use at planting
Sprinkle Grub-ex around plants
Fertilize again when plants develop buds
Water sparingly

Here's hoping this tomato season is better than others.

I talked to my sis, and she made a few calls and found out that there is an opening for a store visual at the Hodgkins store (which is much, much, much closer to my house the Elmhurst store that I currently work at). Just got home from visiting our brand-spankin' new library. The building is gorgeous. And huge. So huge, that there are still EMPTY SHELVES. There are quiet rooms, and study rooms, a computer lab, little reading nooks with cushy chairs. There's even a grouping of armchairs around a fireplace. Very nice ( Read more... )

My Big-Ass Tomato plants have Big-Ass buds on them!!! Yay! Last year my uncle brought us these tomatoes that were very nearly the size of softballs. Seriously. But it's a good tired. It's a tired from working hard in the garden all day. I went to Sid's this morning and bought the rest of the plants I needed for my garden, plus some support hooks for my Iris' and some annuals that I just couldn't leave behind. They were so pretty!
